Introducing the 2022 Toyota Highlander

The 2022 Toyota Highlander continues Toyota’s tradition of reliable, practical, and well-equipped vehicles. This modern mid-size SUV comes standard with a robust safety system that drivers expect from their new cars. Toyota also equipped all trims with impressive technology features for plenty of information and entertainment while on the road.

With seating for eight, the Toyota Highlander continues to be a comfortable option for drivers who need a three-row mid-size SUV with all the bells and whistles.

Standard Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+

To meet the needs of today’s drivers, Toyota equips all 2022 Highlander trims with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ system. This system earned the vehicle a five-star crash-test rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the coveted Top Safety Pick+ from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety.

The Toyota Highlander safety features include the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, Automatic High Beams, Lane Tracing Assist, Road Sign Assist, and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.

Toyota also includes the Star Safety System on all trims. The set of features includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Anti-Lock Brakes, Electric Brake-Force Distribution, Brake Assist, and Smart Stop Technology.

Buyers who choose the XLE trim get a Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and the top trims like the Limited, Platinum, and Bronze Edition add Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking.

Several Standard and Available High-Tech Features

The Toyota Highlander technology also impresses. The base trim comes with an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with six speakers. Drivers can access their favorite entertainment through Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, and a handful of USB ports. The system also comes with Connect services that include Safety Connect and Wi-Fi Connect.

Buyers who upgrade to the top trims get a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with 11 JBL speakers, a subwoofer, and an amplifier, along with the same entertainment options. Toyota includes additional Connected Services, including Remote Connect and Destination Assist.

Toyota includes several high-tech convenience features. The XLE and better trims come with a Qi-compatible Wireless Smartphone Charging System. They also come with an Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirror with a HomeLink universal transceiver. Toyota includes a 10-inch color Head-Up Display with Road Sign Assist.
