2020 Toyota Tundra Towing Capacity & Performance

Setting Standards for Performance

The powerful construction of the 2020 Toyota Tundra was built for towing. Start with a strong core—heavy-duty TripleTech® frame, integrated tow hitch receiver, and a trailer hitch with 12 high-strength bolts attached directly to the frame. Add the power of an i-FORCE 5.7L V8 engine and you’re ready to haul.

Experience the power of the 2020 Tundra for yourself at World Toyota, your local car dealership in Atlanta. Schedule a test drive and see what Toyota toughness is all about.

Three Trims, Three Tough Pickup Trucks

Pair your driving and towing needs with one of Tundra’s three trims: the SR5, the Limited and the Platinum. Each trim comes standard with the 5.7L Aluminum i-FORCE V8 with Dual Overhead Head Cam 32-valve cylinder heads with Acoustic Control Induction System and intelligent Dual Independent Variable Valve Timing.

Got a big load to haul? The Tundra says bring it on. The 2020 Toyota Tundra Limited and Platinum trims each boast a payload capacity of 1,620 lbs and towing capacity of 9,400 lbs. The SR5 gives you a payload capacity of 1,660 lbs and towing capacity of 10,100 lbs.

Refining the Art of Towing

Toyota towing goes the extra mile with features like TOW/HAUL Mode—the system that intelligently holds lower gears longer, keeping your Tundra in the right gear and increasing throttle response, pulling power and engine braking. The 4-/7-pin connector is integrated into the rear bumper and designed to attach to any compatible trailer with the ease of hitching it up and plugging it in.

Tow safer with standard Trailer-Sway Control (TSC) and available Integrated Trailer Brake Controller (ITBC). Trailer Sway Control automatically adjusts the amount of trailer braking based on the weight of the trailer* and the Integrated Trailer Brake Controller detects trailer sway and applies brake pressure on individual wheels for better stabilization.

Never worry about your payload cargo with Toyota’s available Deck Rail System. Four adjustable tie-down cleats, each rated at 220 pds, keep your cargo securely in place and your peace of mind intact.

Embrace the Off-Road Life

There is no such thing as the road not taken with the 2020 Tundra and the Toyota Racing Development (TRD) Off-Road comprehensive upgrade package—available on the SR5, Limited and 1794 Edition. Tough gets tougher in your full size truck with 18-in split 5-spoke TRD alloy wheels, all-terrain P275/65R18 tires, trail-tuned Blistein® shock absorbers, engine skid plate, fuel tank skid plate, front tow hooks, and bedside TRD Off-Road decals

For improved grip on low-traction surfaces, Toyota’s Active Traction Control system (A-TRAC), included on Tundra’s equipped with 4WD, simultaneously optimizes traction across the front and back axles and allows full use of the 2-speed transfer case for all-access to the Tundra’s impressive torque.

Standard on all 2020 Toyota Tundra models, Automatic Limited-Slip Differential (Auto-LSD) works overtime to power your full size pickup out of impossible low-traction situations. The Auto-LSD feature simultaneously applies brake pressure to the powered wheel with limited to no traction, while feeding power to the wheel with the best traction and increasing resistance at the slipping wheel.
