The Technology and Comfort That You Need
But despite its off-road cred, the 2020 Tacoma’s interior reflects a nod to comfort and technology with power locks, keyless entry, intermittent wipers, all-season floor mats, generous in-cabin storage and standard accessory power connectors.
Every model features touchscreen technology with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™ and Amazon Alexa capability.
Other than the base model, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma offers a 10-way power adjustable seat with lumbar support and an LED bed lamp. The base SR trim gets a 7-inch touchscreen and upgraded models feature an eight-inch touchscreen.
Safety Remains a Priority
All 2020 Toyota Tacoma models now include Toyota Safety Sense™ P — a host safety technologies that include automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert, radar cruise control and automatic high beams.
Under the Hood
The 2020 Toyota Tacoma is powered by a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine with a six-speed automatic transmission standard. Upgrades call for a 3.5-liter V6 engine with six-speed automatic or manual transmission. The 2.7-liter engine delivers 150 horses and the 3.5-liter V6 offers 278 horsepower. With its standard engine, the 2020 Toyota Tacoma gets an EPA-estimated 18 MPG in the city and 22 MPG on the highway.
All models feature a Class IV weight distribution towing package with trailer sway control and 6,400 pounds of towing capability.
TRD Enhancements
For those indulging in the TRD models, here’s a partial list of off-road enhancements:
- TRD Pro Desert Air Intake – This air inlet high above the windshield draws cool, fresh air from high above the dust line to help prevent excess dirt from getting to the engine.
- Panoramic View Monitor – The Double Cab version includes nearly 360-degree views around the truck for easier, safer maneuvering in tight situations.
- Multi-Terrain Select – With five modes to choose from, this system helps regulate wheelspin by automatically adjusting throttle and traction control.
- Heritage-Inspired “TOYOTA” Front Grille – A blackout heritage grille that proclaims Toyota’s off-road credentials.
- TRD Pro Cat-Back Exhaust – This cat-back exhaust, constructed from stainless steel, adds a raspy note to the sound of the TRD’s V6.
- Crawl Control – Tacoma TRD’s advanced system modulates the throttle and brakes on five low-speed settings to allow the driver to focus on obstacles ahead.
- Electronically Locking Rear Differential – The rear differential distributes engine power evenly to both rear wheels, providing more grip in low-traction conditions.
- Bilstein® Shocks – Standard on TRD Off-Road, these shocks help soak up the impacts of the trail.
