Based on the same platform as the Lexus LX, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Tundra pickup truck, this full-size SUV has been redesigned for the 2023 model year. It now features an updated interior, a new infotainment system, Tundra’s iForce MAX hybrid powertrain, which consists of a 3.4-liter V-6 powertrain and an electric motor, and a host of other upgrades.

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia is offered in five trim levels: SR5, Limited, Platinum, TRD Pro, and the newly introduced Capstone model. The TRD Pro and Limited 4×4 models can be further equipped with an optional Off-Road package for an exciting experience.

Refined Performance

Under the hood of the 2023 Toyota Sequoia is a 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 working alongside an electric motor for 437 combined horsepower and 583 lb-ft combined torque – 56 percent more horsepower and 137 more torque than the previous 5.7-liter V8 engine. A 10-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive are standard. Four-wheel drive is available as an option.

The off-road-tuned TRD Pro model comes standard with four-wheel drive. For excellent off-road performance, the TRD Pro is further equipped with upgraded Fox dampers, a locking rear differential, a front skid plate, as well as forged 18-inch wheels with 33-inch tires.

Well-Appointed Interior

The 2023 Toyota Sequoia interior speaks class and luxurious comfort, thanks to its plush design and lots of desirable features. Available amenities include heated and ventilated front seats with memory settings, simulated leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, genuine leather upholstery, tri-zone climate control, a moonroof, power-folding third-row seats, power-folding third row, second and third rows shades.

Other available amenities include heated and ventilated second-row captain’s chairs, a panoramic moonroof, a heated steering wheel, etc.

Regarding cargo space, the 2023 Sequoia offers 22.3 cubic feet of storage behind its third row and up to 86.7 cubic feet with the second- and third rows folded.

Outside, the Sequoia gets available LED exterior lighting, rain-sensing wipers, a powered tailgate, a roof rack, 18-22-inch wheels, and a choice of premium colors: Supersonic Red and Solar Octane.

Advanced Safety Technologies

The 2023 Sequoia offers the Toyota Safety Sense 2.5, the company’s full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. It includes forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, cyclist detection in daylight, emergency steering assistance, pedestrian detection even in low-light conditions, as well as intersection assistance with automatic braking.

Others are blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, lane-keeping assist, a 360-degree camera system, etc.

Intuitive Infotainment Technology

For 2023, the Sequoia has a 14.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system on every trim level, except the SR5, which offers an 8-inch display. The vehicle also has a 12.3-inch digital driver information display that provides at-a-glance information on critical vehicle systems, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration, Apple and Amazon Music in-car integration, a Wi-Fi hotspot, a navigation system, voice recognition, USB ports, satellite radio, wireless device charging, a premium audio system, etc.
